least privilege

A security principle requiring each entity (such as a user or third party application) be granted only the minimum amount of access to data that it needs to perform its function. Often, least privilege is enforced through quarterly audits, which might not detect a potential issue in time. A frictionless data security solution can detect a history of unused permissions and propose remediation.
